What Now? The Future of Infiniraft
Before I share my plans for a post Ludum Dare Infiniraft I would like to thank everyone who played, rated, and gave feedback to Infiniraft during Ludum Dare. Now let’s talk about Infiniraft 2.0.
I would like to eventually make a new release that incorporates the feedback from Ludum Dare. To help this happen I have created a GitLab repository for Infiniraft, and all future development will take place publicly using this repository. This does not mean that itch.io will be abandoned.
Once enough changes have been made I will create a new project page on itch.io where future versions of Infiniraft will be released. I am doing this because I want to leave the original Infiniraft page untouched for archival purposes. When the new page is created I will update the old page with a link to the new page, and I will send an email (via itch.io) to anyone who downloaded Infiniraft. It will take a while for any of this to happen, so I will be making beta releases occasionally.
The readme for the repository has information about beta releases and the alpha version. The readme overall has a lot of information about the project, and the issue tracker is where I am discussing what changes to make. Hopefully all of this work will ensure that Infiniraft 2.0 gets made.
I cannot promise that Infiniraft 2.0 will happen but I plan to work on it as my time and interest allows. In the meantime peruse the GitLab page and stay turned.
